Zaya was born June 5, 1975 in Bayan Khongor, Mongolia. In 2002 he graduated from the Institute of Fine Art at the Mongolian University of Culture and Art with a bachelors degree in fine art. The artist combines traditional Mongolian painting with modern and international influences. In addition to scenes of ancient daily life and exotic portraiture, he also draws on time-honored themes of dramatic landscape and graceful animals. He effortlessly combines these varied cultures and themes with a mastery of color and graceful line.
