Biography

“I love to paint landscapes.  I am intrigued by the complicated and dynamic energy of an outdoor scene and I try to capture some of that energy by focusing on a particular feature that happens to catch my eye at any given moment.  That special element can be any number of things; it can be the way the last bright rays of the sun flash on a garden ornament, the winter light in a dormant vineyard, or the twisted, gnarled shapes of the individual grapevines.  The same view can change dramatically with the light and shadow of the moment, and the possibilities are endless and unimaginable.  “-Susan Freedman
