Artist Biography
J. Carlos is a self-taught artist who lives in Murcia, Spain.
There can be many types of landscapes; physical, mental, emotional, maritime, desert, architectural, real or fictional cities, etc.
In my case, the themes that occupy me as a painter are primarily those related to maritime landscapes, the countryside, or desert landscapes such as those along Route 66 in Arizona.
In maritime landscapes, a small boat, a ship is the connecting element, the element that functions as a hinge connecting the vast spaces between the sky and ocean located right on the horizon. A line that separates the immensity of the great ocean.
In rural or desert landscapes, the symbolic element can be a tree whose roots are connected to the solidity of the earth and the physical while its foilage and leaves are connected to the immateriality of the air and wind. The trunk functions as a channel of communication between these two worlds.
